Committee of Management

The Committee of Management (COM) is comprised of the Executive Committee (President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and Course Coordinator), plus a minimum of five ordinary committee members. All committee members are elected at the annual AGM, usually held in April.

The Committee meets at 2pm on the 3rd Friday of each month (no meeting in January). All members of U3A Mornington are welcome to attend.




 President - Jan Oliver

Chairs the U3AM committee meetings

Acts as the official representative at public functions

Signatory to documents

Ex-officio member of all sub-committees





Vice President - Margaret Johnson

Supports the President, and assumes that role in her absence 







Treasurer - Simon Avery

Prepares, monitors and reports on budget and expenditure

Manages all financial affairs including insurance  






Secretary - Jude Burrows

Manages correspondence

Maintains records of the organisation 

Manages agendas and minutes of meetings, including AGM






Office Manager - Jill Storey

Manages all office duties, including front desk roster

Manages office equipment and classroom supplies





Course Coordinator - Maurice Johns

Reviews all current courses

Identifies demand for new courses

Recruits and supports tutors

Organises and allocates rooms for classes

Manages advertising of classes, enrolment and allocation of members to classes



 Database Coordinator - Dianne Lewis

 Maintains the database system for all member details, and class enrolments

 Organises printing of attendance sheets, reports and address labels for all mailouts

 Organises course offers

 Books and monitors room bookings  



Member Communications Coordinator and Volunteering Coordinator - Anne Riddell 

Keeps members in touch with essential and useful information about U3AM

Produces the quarterly Four Seasons newsletter and monthly What’s On ebulletin

Seeks to increase the level of volunteering and enhance the status of volunteers in U3AM








 Building Maintenance - Bruce Pascoe

Manages building maintenance

Liaises with Mornington Peninsula Shire re property and equipment issues     





Intergenerational - Elizabeth (Libby) Wilson

Creating links between our members and the younger members of our community  - from primary and secondary schools through to tertiary institutions




Social Events Coordinator - vacant role

Organises U3AM main events

Organises U3AM participation at non-U3AM events


Marketing and Publicity - vacant role

Promotes U3A Mornington in the community

Organises publicity brochures and fliers

Coordinates attendance at public functions eg Ageing Well  Expo, Mornington Market 



Ex-Officio Positions

A number of members act in "ex-officio" roles, providing vital support to the U3AM, usually working with various committee members, but who themselves are not members of the U3AM Committee of Management.

Oversees the U3A Membership database system at Network Vic level


ICT Classes Coordinator  & U-MAS System Administrator - Terry Moar

Organises all ICT courses

Manages all IT and AV facilities

Manages furniture and fittings maintenance

Assists the Webmaster
